Good morning my lovely music lover!  We're about to on a journey off this continent!  I hope you like foreign music and have a longing for some sensual grooves! Welcome to Wacky Music Wednesday, I'm your host, joshua; music explorer extraordinaire. Or at least I like to tell myself that 😉

Today I have for you (yes, you!) a band that has a very unique and calming sound coming from Belarus called СОЮЗ (you can look them up by literally typing COIO3 lol).

СОЮЗ plays a mixture of acoustic, jazz, experimental, and pop, which means that you never really know what you're getting whenever you play one of their songs, other than that it will be a super chill ride the whole time. СОЮЗ (translates to Cyrillic "Soyuz" means "Union")

Today's first song is called "Тизита" from their album II. Wow does this song just ooze cool; beginning with a sick bassline and jumping right into a old organ solo. The lyrics are all in Belarusian and I have honestly never heard a Slavic band sound so elegant! The song swaggers its way through your ears and then the rap section hits halfway through, and it just fits so perfectly! The sound, pacing, and tone of the entire song is flawless. There's not much more I can say for this song, other than just go listen to it!

"Morning Moon

High in the sky

I remember I dreamed

Remember I dreamed and forgot"

A song fit for any lazy Sunday! The lyrics and tone obviously invoke a feeling of floating in a dream, with very very subtle tonal hints of melancholy and longing, which lends to a feeling of mystery. Why is there this tiny mustard seed of doubt lingering in the air? Why does something feel... off? It's an incredibly small, almost insignificant feeling, and yet, it's still there, giving this one minute and 30 second song a lot of depth.

The next song from this interesting band is called "Offscreen" from the Force of the Wind album.

And what's this? Another song with a completely different sound? Yep! This band is nothing if not diverse in sound!

"Offscreen" is much more jazzy than the other songs I've shown you, primarily featuring a grand piano, with some jazz drums and a string section to back it up. The vocals are a softer contrast to the slightly-sharper instrumentals, which gives the song a feeling of standing in a busy metro calmly watching the rest of the world buzz by. This is one of their simpler songs, but still a very fun song to listen to if you need a small break from the chaos of the word.

That's really the theme of this whole band: serenity in a chaotic world. Whether you're feeling sad or happy, angry or excited, this band has a song for you. I adore finding incredible music from other countries, because they are so often lost in the avalanche of music coming out every single day, this band is one example of that.

Thank you for joining me on another wacky Wednesday! I hope you dig these tunes!  Be good today! ❤️
