The Ghost Ship

Wacky Music Wednesday Sunday School edition:  Welcome to today’s sermon as we dive into what I would consider the very best Christian prog/speed metal creation known to mankind. THEOCRACY!  Taking cues from epic bands like Stratovarius, Dream Theater, and even the likes of Queensryche, Theocracy pops all of this into a blender and sprinkles in some holy water and what you’re left with is some incredible headbanging worship.

Plenty of bands in the realms of metal have made connections to their audiences through various walks of faith. Why has Christianity been left behind when Wiccan, Celtic, Norse, and many others have found success? Well, obviously there have been plenty of popular Christian rock bands, especially during the nu-metal phase of the early 2000s, but I’m talking genuine METAL here. 

Theocracy does a great job with bucking trends and not following what everyone else was doing. They took their talents and the incredible song writing speaks for themselves. They’ve become world renown not just in the metal scene, but in religious circles as well.

Take the headliner song of this album “Ghost Ship” it has virtually EVERYTHING someone would want in a face melting metal tune. The freak’n chorus just tears. Not only does the song build nicely to it, but you can feel the tempo speeding up as you hit the climax as well! This is top notch, and should be experienced by everyone!

Fun Fact; Matt Smith is so badass that he recorded a cover of one of the VERY BEST Saturday morning cartoon theme songs!  M.A.S.K. I mean seriously, how could you NOT love this!!
