all punked up

 Welcome back to this week's WACKY MUSIC WEDNESDAY!! ❤️  Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but this WEDNESDAY let's just pretend it's actually THURSDAY and we're just a tad bit closer to the weekend. These are just the powers I wield! 😉 This week we're taking a look at a couple really rad tunes that for some strange reason just needed to be punked up a lil' bit!

What do I mean by "punked up" you might ask, well- ask away!  Ok, glad you asked!  Think of classic tunes from your childhood or yesteryear. Anything from Saturday morning cartoons you enjoyed, classic songs or even movie soundtracks, there's badass punk covers climbing out of the woodwork.  And, I want to take a look at a couple!

One act that has gained a TON of momentum lately is "Punk Rock Factory", and omg- like they're booming right now. They put speedy fun spins on TONS of super memorable tunes! I'm not even sure where to start, hmmm.. ok- here's a couple great selections!

Did you love Disney's Encanto? A lot of people did for the soundtrack alone!  Well, you should check out "Surface Pressure" as it sounds completely at home with this sound. Matter of fact, I had convinced my kids that this was actually a 20 year old song that was remixed for the recent movie! haha-

How about the very VERY best KISS classic- "God Gave Rock and Roll to you"?! 

 

Hell yes! Such a great song, made even better with a bit of pep in it's step!  Now I want to watch Bill & Ted!

you'll find a never ending plethora of crazy cool punk versions of songs by searching their discography on spotify. I'd recommend checking 'em all out and I'm sure you'll fall in love with PRF like I have!

THUNDER, THUNDER!! BLUNDER SHATS!! HOOOOO!!!

Now, before you say to yourself, is PRF a brand new concept? Of course not. Making punk versions of classic songs has been a thing forever, the very best of the best putting out killer tunes nearly 20 years ago would be "Me first and the Gimmie Gimmies". They've been covering just about everything from under the sun from classic Dolly Pardon to the Wizard of Oz!

So much fun to be had, and I hope you're able to dive in head first with some seriously sped up on crack versions of all-time classics like I have!  Who needs caffiene when you can just listen to songs like this? 😉
