take the reins of my being

The brutal most inner fullness edition of WMW is here, and while Joshua's usually the fun loving discoverer of cool new tunes that slap, today we're going to resort to a new host!  One that wishes only brutality and broken dreams to his victims!  it's SGT JASH!! hahahhahahahaahh

rar, I'm a sergeant now.  No, not like the pizza, like someone that's in charge n' stuff!

ok, so seriously- Sgt JASH is all about absolute brutal metal today, so if that makes you feel a tad squeemish then I suggest you turn around and walk right back out that door ASAP!!

Today's track is called "Inner Fullness" by the legendary Persefone (which for months, I called "Purse Phone" - yeah, don't ask.

The theme of self-acceptance and embracing one's true self. The song talks about how societal norms and conditioning forces individuals to hide parts of their being in order to fit in, causing them to cut themselves piece by piece. It emphasizes the importance of introspection and emotional immersion, and encourages listeners to embrace themselves fully, including their shadows and light.

"But who are you

To cut the wings of my soul

You cannot control me

You will not have such power on me

Courage in both hands

Forces and wisdom on my side

I take the reins of my being

And now, introspection sinking

Emotional immersion, go!"

For the overall wicked way this song attacks, it does represent something beautiful and empowering. Like most metal honestly! Beauty is always found within, never judge a book or especially a song by it's initial presence, there's so much more to find once you dig deep!  Keep on truck'n and we'll catch on the flip side for another over-share next Wednesday!!   Be good!!

PS: Sorry for the sloppy and quick WMW this week, I'm just about to head out of work for a 2 hour commute back home and I'm in a bit of a rush!
