ミラクルミュージカル
Hello! It's your distracted Joshua with your long-time-coming WMW!!! This was actually written weeks ago, but I FORGOT TO SEND IT!! OMFG!! What are we talking about here? Oh yeah!! The song in question is one that is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites, its a song about love, life, death, memory, and peace.
"Dream Sweet in Sea Major" by Miracle Musical, genuinely a phenomenal music group that unfortunately have only one album to my knowledge. Ironically, the album is called Hawaii: Part II, and I cannot find part 1 to save my life big sigh.......
Nonetheless!
The song begins with vocals that sound like they come from a high quality microphone from the 50's, giving it a super cool retro sound. The opening of the song is lonely, but strangely enough, it doesn't seem like a bad feeling, almost feeling more like a contemplative solitude. Some humming and a piano accompany the singer and lead us into the first main section, where the strings come to bring an upbeat sweetness to the mix.
I think at this point it is important to look at the story of the song: good old fashioned death. Dream sweet in Sea Major paints a picture of the thoughts and feelings of someone's passing, not in a horrible/brutal way, but in a beautiful - almost whimsical way. At this point in the song (around a minute in) the old school sounding microphone switches and the music begins to build some sort of curiosity.
"We'll go together in flight" Is the beginning of this change, perhaps our character is not alone in this experience?
Whoever this presence is definitely seems to like the theatrics; our main character is taken throughout the universe to see the different wonders it has. There is a section entirely in French, which describes a stretching galaxy, gardens of imagination, and skating past the moon. This section is lighthearted with a sense of happiness and discovery. The presence also seems to be describing the nature of the universe -
"Children born of one emotion
Our devotion's deepest ocean
No division reasoned we'll be free"
What could this mean? I have no idea, but its pretty
Eventually, all things come to pass and we reach the final section of the song. The main character thinks of the person he loved most when he was alive, how beautiful they looked in their memories. As the musical tone shifts, they also think about how they must accept that this part of their existence is complete, and only the memory can remain. There is a finality here, quite sorrowful, but also providing closure. This is where our character finally moves on to the great pineapple in the sky (or whatever’s up there) and then the song ends and closes the album.
Man, this song is really, really beautiful. It mixes together many different musical styles that really meld together perfectly to tell this story, and really sticks with you. Even without reading the lyrics, you can emotionally feel what is going on, which makes this a genuinely perfect song. A Miracle of a Musical, if you will 😉. I really hope you like this song, it is one of the utmost lavish discoveries. Thank you for taking the time to read this WMW, and I hope you have a wonderful NOT HOLIDAY BREAK!! HAHAHA!!! Joshuaaario OUT!
