get in the ring

Welcome back to yet another spoonful of the Wacky Music Wednesday!!  I have a big spoon this week, maybe it's more of a shovel.. is that a spoovel? Am I going to keep up all this large spoon talk?  I mean, I could literally go on for hours. I personally am not a fan of these tiny spoons, give me a mouthful won't ya?  Ok, okay already!!  What are we talking about again?

OMFG- it's WMW and this week we're yammering on about some of my favorite music that most people don't realize you can find in a very odd form of entertainment.  We've looked at movie soundtracks, video games, covers, and even AI creations, but this week we're looking at the world of PRO WRESTLING!!

Some of my favorite wrestlers also had AMAZING theme songs that would accompany them to the ring. Think of some of the most legendary performers like Hulk Hogan, and Stone Cold Steve Austin had such memorable songs. The glass shattering of Austin 3:16 or Pomp and Circumstance/Graduation Song would elate the crowd as they knew a legendary grappler was headed to the ring.  But what about some lesser known talents that also had awesome theme songs?

My favorite tag team of all time, is none other than the Motor City Machine Guns, and Alex Shelley is oddly one of my favorite wrestlers EVER. I only say "oddly" as most have never heard of him. He's recently been given the main event rub and had the TNA/Impact world championship for most of 2023 in an amazing run at the top!  The MCMG have an awesome track that has accompanied them to the ring since 2010, and I always love singing along to it!  One of the coolest experiences happened last year as we went to a TNA wrestling event in Chicago where our section started shouting the lyrics/city "MOTOR CITY - MOTOR CITAYYYY" over and over for minutes after the song had faded.  Alex Shelley noticed our section and played us up and before we knew it, half the stadium was singing along with us!  It was absolutely amazing, and I wouldn't trade that moment for anything in the world!

Another banger is Tommy End (Aleister/Malakai Black)'s old theme from WWE. He's a super dark character that is entirely anti-establishment and has a dark gothic theme. The song fits. it sets a mood, and is perfect for his character. 

One of the best of all time: Kenny Omega's AEW theme is absolutely incredible. His style of offense is hich-octane and never lets up!  His theme matches this energy with the ONE WINGED ANGEL BATTLE CRY! I feel like you could use this song as motivation for the gym or getting hyped for a big upcoming moment!  It's perfect!  - 

I'll leave you with this incredible tune, Shinsuke Nakamura. One of the absolute greatest of all times, and his violin filled masterpiece. When this music hits you are in for a real treat. Not only is his in-ring work legendary but the entrance is a spectacle to see as well! -
