shoot into the eyes of a stranger
Welcome to the NannoWARRY Wacky Wednesday Music Day of March! Wait, what? Oh- IT DOESN'T MATTER!! It's that mid-week check in with some cranky old guy that only loves good music. You know.. right? ME!! Ok, so it's a mini-Weds click-worthy tune today that actually was JUST RELEASED 3 HOURS AGO!!
why the all-caps you might ask? Or probably not, I tend to get OVERLY excited when I hear cool new songs. But, omfg- this one is hilarious. Imagine a band doing a tribute to one of the most legendary bands of all time, but rather than just playing a cover of their coolest work, it was like they grabbed every lyric ever and just MASHED THE FUCK OUTTA THEM! Imagine it.
ARE YOU IMAGINING!?!?
Ok, so now that you're in deep thought imaginary world, listen to the track I linked above. Nanowar has been around for over a decade as a comedy act with music that mocks Manowar along with a few classic metal bands. So, it's like funny metal.
But are they funny with a deeper meaning? Are they taking a current trend of "AI", polishing it all up and creating an adventurous tune of pure metal beauty? I'm not sure, I'm asking of you to answer this! 'cause holy crud, does this song just feel like AI created the lyrics and pooped out an instant classic. It contains all the key elements of a legendary Iron Maiden song without any of the story-telling context. I mean seriously, what in the actual F*$k is going on here? -
"Flash of the Blaze, Aces high, falling down
The evil that the long distance runner do
Running free, live to fly, fly to live, fly to fly
Do or diet or be a long distance runner
Children of Charlotte the harlot
The number of Charlotte the harlot
Fear of the virus of Charlotte the harlot
The virus of the ancient Mariner
Afraid, to shoot into the eyes of a stranger
A stranger in a strange world of a strange land
Afraid to look to the eyes of a stranger
The stranger of a stranger in a strange land"
This makes no sense to me, but I love it- See you next week as I ramble on aimlessly for your mid-week tune of the boob.
