ACCEPT the fate.

Welcome back for your mid-week addition!  It's yet another rendition of balls out fun, your WACKY MUSIX WEDNESDAY!!  I'm your ballzy tandem jumper, jishytyrbz here to escort you along through my origin story starting from when I was a dumbass kid.  back in the day, you see, this young metal noob was but a stray pup. Unable to distinguish good music from the bad. Metal sounded scary, and that loud music WAS NOT acceptable in my house. 

I distinctively remember hearing my first Metallica song and my dad asking me if I "thought this was music"?  Like... I dunno, but it releases aggression and makes me feel good!  During the era of glitz and glam rock came a few pretty great bops that had me head banging at an early age. Killers like AC/DC, Gn'R, and Iron Maiden opened my ears (and eyes) to a darker side of rock, they weren't pretty, their image was something else, and I freak'n loved it. One of the earliest influential songs I can remember hearing was introduced to me by my older brother. It was a song called "Balls to the Wall" by Accept.  I literally have nightmares (STILL) about those terrifying sounds at the 3:55 mark... EEEESH!!!

Balls to the Wall planted all of the seeds necessary to point me in a direction that I would never stray from. A heavy dose of churning guitars, a memorable chant, incredible build to a power-metal chorus. It all came together so well, I couldn't wait to hear more!  Accept are an incredibly talented group, that practically disappeared from the scene as soon as they hit it!  They were "WINGERED"* upon arrival!

Why you may ask?  Well, as you can see, I loved their famous tune (kind of infamouse now) and heard on MTV that they were getting a music video!  To be considered in the daily top 10 songs, you HAD to have a music video, so once Accept hit the airwaves and started to pick up traction they quickly created a music video to hit TV!!  And low and behold, they created, very likely, the cringiest video of all time.

They had to have spent 4 hours creating this thing. From beginning to end, no joke.  Whoever signed on to create this video for them, likely was trying to make a cheap glam rock knock off video or something, because it's freak'n terrible... Balls to the wall? more like kick in the balls...  Accept became the laughing stock of the entire music video generation, practically never to be heard of again (At least in main-stream rock/metal)

Fast forward a million years, and the damn chorus still pops into my head, and apparently it does for others as well!  A few reputable bands have come together to cover this "classic" and I'd like to share them with you here:

Thinking about this song, makes me WISH that Sabaton would do a cover, like- omg, Just imagine their warlike motto blasting "Balls to the Wall!"  hahaha... oh, a young man can wonder.....
