Let's get Cathartic

Welp, today fuckin sucks

I'm not really in a mood for a WMW today, instead it's gonna be a short little CMW (Cathartic Music Wednesday) because damn, I sure need it.

First up, Municipal Waste - "Sadistic Magician". Fun song about a wizard or something? Not entirely sure, but the bass guitar intro slaps and the call/response lyrics are a lot of fun.

Next is Dying Fetus - "Wrong one to fuck with" Maaaaan what an absolute crusher of an exciting and heavy death metal song. A little corny (You better not tussle with me pal! I'll mess you up!) but oh my god is this song a must have for any workout session!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uutzRMPRbg

Another heavy hitter is Hollow World - "Defiling Paradise" Good lord the drum work in this song is pristine!!! The album art, the vocals, the smooth tonal flow from heavy to melodic really makes you bob your head a bit. Very fun, one of my favorites.

Last heavy song is Rippikoulu - "Kadonneet Jumalat". I think this is one of the most crushing dOOm songs I know. The mixture of the extreme downtuning of the guitars, and the deep and impactful kick drums is totally devastating (awesomly!) and deserves to be turned up. Very VERY cathartic

I lied a little earlier, I actually do have a 'wacky' song (not super wacky, just interesting and beautiful).

Atlanta Space Quartet - "Moons of Saturn"

If you check out any song on this list, make it this one! It takes it's time making heavy usage of the bass guitar to move the song along, using multiple bass tones for different parts of the song, which is super interesting.

"Time does not exist yet

The gods have not been born

They're living in the womb

And I don't have to run"

Cryptic, spacey, and beautiful; all wrapped in one 9 minute song

Things suck right now, I'm sure we have similar feelings towards how things went down, but I like to keep hope that things will eventually be alright, we just gotta keep moving forward and look to a brighter future. Wherever we go, we gotta get there together. A little help from some skull crushing death metal might be nice too!
