Road Tripz

 

Welcome to this ROADTRIPP'n edition of Wacky Music Wednesday!!  This week a few of us goons are headed to the Midwest Gaming Classic (MGC) for a weekend of awesome games and fun, nerdy atmosphere!  We head out this afternoon and will spend a majority of the next 2 days setting up. It's not often that I share my nerdy convention life on these WACKY WEDNESDAYs, but today you get a snippet!

I love road trips, I love going to see wild and otherworldly experiences. National parks, big cities, mountains, cliffs, all that junk!  I just love it!  Part of the adventure is the road that leads us to our destination, and I wanted to share a few tracks that I absolutely love for certain times/scenes of our journeys!

To kick things, off.. OF COURSE, it is Highway Star by Deep Purple, I've maintained that this track is one of the FINEST songs in the history of music It's literally one of the forefathers of speed metal. Quick jolting machine gun riffs along with screams and a speedy beat. If this doesn't get you in the mood.. Then nothing will!!  

Kavinsky's Nightcall is pure perfection for a middle of the night drive through a big city. I fucking love the simplicity of this tune, while it totally sets the vibe for a cruise. Watching the skylight pause and experiencing moving buildings waving past in parallax. My dream is to feel the wind in my face while driving oceanside down the Pacific Coast Highway. If I ever get to, I need this song to accompany us!

And how about my ridiculous love for video game music?  Oh yeah, I got stuff for that too. Why just listen to game music when you can jam with a couple dudes rapping to classic NES songs?  Oh my, head bopp'n to this makes any drive fly by!

For bonus, how about putting on a pair of headphones and laying your head back while on a plane or bus? Yeah, I got a jam for that too! Just imagine you're about to take off, out your window you see the city lights start to disappear over the horizon as we're being lifted to the clouds. Where's the destination gonna be? Hopefully somewhere amazing!
