My Identity: Greetings

 

Day 3 of WACKY MUSIC WEEK gives us the incredulous CHUM with Greetings(From the Inner Self) Which is a beautiful way to hear "Happy to meet myself!" If you think about it!  ID2 was LOADED with excellent tunes and incredible bands that got me hooked on Century Media.  Various styles and genres found within these 18 tracks!  DID I MENTION THIS WAS LIKE $3.99 at our local record shops BRAND NEW!?!?

Chum reminds me of what would eventually become the Foo Fighters, that took a few go arounds before finding their signature sound after Nirvana's absence from the music world. They have an ultra talented 90s beat and some crunchy guitars that blast at you! Still rooted in Heavy Metal like most Century Media bands, while pulling something together with a unique sound!

Give these guys a spin will ya? I'm not sure Chum ever were my favorites on these discs when I was a kid. The sloppy/underproduced sound of alternative/grunge was so overblown back in the 90s, I wanted an escape into more technical/cleaned up rock. But, over time I've come to enjoy these guys, even adding more tracks of theirs to my usual playlists. What are you feeling after hearing this one? Are you happy to meet yourself?
