oh lord!
Get yo WACKY ASSES in here!! It's WMW!!
Christina and I just finished watching the second season of Peacemaker, and I have really mixed emotions coming out of it. After watching about 2-3 episodes I realized I wasn't enjoying it as much as I did season 1. The first season had emotional moments wrapped in hilarious comedy gold while you got to know a bit more about Chris (Peacemaker) along with a smattering of supporting characters, but season 2 is a lot different.
Peacemaker season 2's meaning is centered on Chris accepting he is a good person, despite a traumatic journey that leads him to believe he's a "harbinger of death". It culminates with his friends, the 11th Street Kids, convincing him he's a hero. It's angsty, it's sad, and the overall pace is way SLOWWW. The more I thought about it, and started to understand it, the more I loved it. The drastic change between seasons 1 and 2 are kind of brilliant.
Another major change was the show's theme song. It's a totally different vibe and band. Season 1's theme: "Do you wanna Taste it?" by Wig Wam was an homage to power glam metal from the 80s. Powerful and over the top, just like season 1! But man, what a drastic change we have with Foxy Shazam's "Oh Lord". The song reflects the show as it is a message about the ups and downs of life.
'Cause there is always a wrong to your right
And there will always be a war somewhere to fight
And God knows I've had some rough fuckin' years
Ooh, oh Lord, oh Lord, keep on keeping on'
Season one intro for contrast:
We'll return once again next week for something truly VANILLA to wet your ears on our way into the holiday season! Until next time.....
