Hansi Kürsch is a legend, a DAMN legend let me tell you!! I know we JUST talked about Blind Guardian two weeks ago, but have you heard of this side project of his?? Let's dive in!!
We're back with a dash of an AMALGAM of powers this week on the WMW front!! What majiks is this you may ask?! Well it's a bit of Blind Guardian AND Iced Earth!! That's right!! Conceived as a side-project by Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch and REDACTED NAZI GUY, Demons & Wizards are a spectacle that you NEED to wrap your ears around!
I used to listen to Heaven Denies with headphones laying in bed at night, certain lyrics (especially the way Hanzi sang them) really hit me in the gut. Sometimes facing an impossible challenge will humble you, and that's ok. You learn, you live, you rebuild, and you return to face a new obstacle!

I think that the combination of power metal chords along with the stylized vocals of Hanzi create an absolute BEAST of a sound. This album was actually my first true experience hearing Hansi Kürsch in depth, and man once I realized the gateway I had opened it was over for me.
D&W is a trilogy of albums and they're damn good, you should bobble in and try out the tracks I shared above, give 'em a try and see if you'd like to listen to more. Or... really, just check out more Blind Guardian and forget the other collaborator ever existed.. It's a blurry line when you love an artist and then find out they're pieces of shit... sigh, usually I am pretty good at separating the artist's work from their personal lives, but this one is a challenge. I honestly may never pop in one of my Iced Earth albums again. :(
