The Furious Furry Fire - A DG Post -
Oh look, it's Wednesday innit?
So let's stroll back about a decade and a half. I was still in Chicago, attending big conventions regularly. Anime Central, Wizard World Chicago, and of course, Midwest Furfest. While I have attended panels at all of them (especially Voice Actor led ones- shoutout to Quinton Flynn and Jeff Nimoy), Furry panels are wild. You never quite know what you'll find. Heck, I went to the auction one year and end up getting a Green Arrow Ink Page. Like a legit page from inking from an issue of the comic. ANYWAY, one year (and I couldn't tell you which cause it all blurs together) there were a couple music performances.
One of them was "Bucktown Tiger" who plays piano in a partial fursuit, a lot of medley stuff, but a very fun time. He would be on Jeopardy a few years later, not kidding.
But the other is an artist I would follow for several years, back on Patreon and still listen to in rotation. Matthew Ebel. Basically the Furry Jonathon Colton.
Songs like The Last Pirate that lean on internet culture
Great vibes. Songs like "I wish I Were..." which could be my anthem, right?
He was kinda big for a bit in the early 2010s among furries, even picking up a regular drummer (Runtt) and playing full concerts at some bigger cons.
Last one, cause it's still up there as one of my favorites, from his first album before he really found his audience, but a fan favorite that was often requested on his live streams
his discography is on Youtube and Spotify. I honestly don't know what he is up to now adays, his last album is dated 2017? Figured I'd share
His X is wiped (can't blame him) I did follow him on Bluesky, but he only posted in 2023 when he made it.
I lied, one more, cause I'm jamming to it right now
