As good as Lords was.....
This week is MGC week, and I'm all packed and ready to go. This year feels a little different than others in the past. I've been going to MGC since either 2004 or '03, I honestly don't remember anymore. Getting old is hilariously fun, idn't it? But yeah, I'm heading out tomorrow morning and, as always, looking forward to catching up with friends I've made over the last two decades. :)
The different part? I'm not sure if I can really put my finger on it. I'm like half wishing I wasn't going, and half excited. I guess I'll find out how I feel after it's all said and done, but here's a really cool track I have loved since I was like 14 years old. This is track 5 from the absolutely LEGENDARY Turbografx games "Gate of Thunder". It was one of the first games I bought with my own money from my first paycheck in 1993. (REMEMBER I'M OLD!!)
One of the fondest memories of this game is realizing that my super cool Turbo system had a CD tray and I could listen to music on it, and also, since some of these ultra cool games were on CD, I could put them in a regular CD player and listen to them! I put this game in and would listen to it as I fell asleep on my little radio/CD player next to my bed. Some of those sleepless nights when I was thinking about life I was listening to this very same soundtrack. And well, here I am thinking about a massive event coming up and my feelings on it.
It works, it's amazing, and matter of fact if you listen to the whole soundtrack you'll become enlightened because it's an amazing assortment of classic rock and industrial. I'll be back next week with a really cool JJ2 post, from my ultra cool friend Josh! He has a much broader and deeper interest in music, so it'll be a really good read! We'll talk to you soon!! WACKY JASHY OUT!!
